hnnngggg
Do you think the SLS will ever reach the same heights as a classic like the OG SL mercedes?
Have you seen/worked on an SLS roadster? Which do you prefer?
![]() 06/09/2017 at 10:42 |
|
Dang! So which would you rather have??? I don’t know if I could ever make up my mind
![]() 06/09/2017 at 10:42 |

Service tag: Customer states car only goes 0-60 in 4.2 seconds not 3.7 seconds as stated by MFR advertisement.

Of the ones I see in the picture, I’d take the SLS...and hopefully a smart if there’s one on the lot. :p

My bays baes at work right now
*heart eyes emoji* Damn that G Wagen and an AMG GT or SLS is like the best combo garage.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 10:53 |
|
That’s also a fucking expensive garage, to buy and maintain
![]() 06/09/2017 at 11:02 |

You should go back to working on Rovers. Waaaay more fun.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 11:16 |

I would take that Y T
![]() 06/09/2017 at 11:19 |

Response: YMMV, get driver mod.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 11:19 |

Go ahead and give me one of everything.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 11:22 |

I CAN’T HEAR YOU over my fantasizing SORRY
![]() 06/09/2017 at 11:26 |
|
Yes. Without a doubt.
Yes again. I prefer the look of the roadster, but the cool factor of the gullwing. To drive, I prefer the GT.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 11:28 |
|
No problem sir. I will function test your race start and sell you a transmission service and some tires. That will be $3k. Thank you come again.

Lots of smarts. We have been #1 smart dealer a bunch of times. I drove a 451 electric home last night.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 11:30 |

SLS for attention and resale. GT for performance and daily useability.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 11:31 |

Yup. Uh huh. Totally.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 11:50 |

I drove a 451 electric home last night.
Lucky!! Next time I go for warranty service I wonder if I could get an ED as a loaner? That’s assuming my choice of dealer even has EDs...

Slow day.... made my own line up
![]() 06/09/2017 at 12:12 |

Stuff of dreams right there!
![]() 06/09/2017 at 12:12 |

Not gonna lie, I greatly prefer them to gas smarts. Way more fun to drive. And I’m electric certified too so I work on them frequently.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 12:13 |

At least yours won’t break the bank to service!
What happened to your of happenings?
![]() 06/09/2017 at 12:22 |
|
I’ll take the SLS and 500SEC?
![]() 06/09/2017 at 12:23 |
|
Working on it right now.
Astons break the bank soooo hard but these peeps have big banks to cope. V12 Vantage we have in right now for a clutch job. The owner drove it normal for 3 years, only has 15,000+ miles on it. Including some other random things, his RO is a little over $10K. Dude, I would be on the phone with Aston making such a fit..... but no, not this guy. He is just going to pay and drive away.
Must be nice huh?
![]() 06/09/2017 at 13:02 |

What’s the worst thing about working on an SLS?
![]() 06/09/2017 at 15:29 |
|
450SL
![]() 06/09/2017 at 15:31 |
|
I meant the diecast versions lol
But yeah, must be nice! I had a customer who didn’t feel like getting a pleb loaner while his S65 coupe was serviced so he bought a GLC43 instead.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 15:35 |

Gawkers. Every porter and new salesman always wants to hover the whole time taking pictures and just checking it out. I just want to throw wrenches at them the whole time. The car itself is fine, very serviceable.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 15:37 |
|
Can’t say I’m too surprised. I imagine it’s the same when an AMG GT, Maybach, or any six digit AMG is in the garage?
![]() 06/09/2017 at 15:44 |
|
I know lol :]
Holy moly lol, must be nice.
When I was at Lexus, clients would trip balls if we offered a ES loaner if they drove an LS.
Our Lotus and Aston customers don’t even get loaners lol. If they want a ride, they get one in our shop 1994 Volvo 940
![]() 06/09/2017 at 15:58 |
|
Pretty much. So you can probably imagine the fun I had beating people away when these two were sitting next to each other.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 15:59 |
|
A 940!? Don’t you have a metris or sprinter or something like that as a shuttle?
![]() 06/09/2017 at 16:01 |
|
lol nope :] We actually have 2 old af Volvo 940 for customer shuttles, 1 old af 940 wagon for customer shuttles, and 1 always broken 2007 R-Class to take stuff to the body shop and Mercedes parts runner lol :]
![]() 06/09/2017 at 16:05 |
|
Hnnngggg, even better
![]() 06/09/2017 at 17:38 |
|
Oh yes. Sadly I would have been one of them, if the SLS was a Black Edition!
![]() 06/09/2017 at 20:17 |
|
Oh damn. We’ve got a metris shuttle, that replaced a ‘12 R-class a few months ago, plus two sprinters for parts.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 20:18 |
|
107's aren’t better than anything.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 20:20 |
|
I’ve never seen a black series. But I have worked in a final edition, 1 of 400... in the wooorrrllld.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 20:29 |
|
Eh... Idk I guess I would prefer the 500 SEC to the 460, but I like them too.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 20:36 |
|
Work on them and diagnose weird problems, you will change your mind.
![]() 06/09/2017 at 23:21 |
|
Oh dang niiice.
I was showing TFritsch this earlier
![]() 06/10/2017 at 00:27 |
|
Wow! That’s crazy! Does anyone still use it?
![]() 06/10/2017 at 08:55 |
|
We did when I first started back in 2010 because our “semi” modern machine was only purchased and used for Maybach. But once one of the mirrors went missing, we left the 1970's and joined the late 90's/early 00's with our other machine. That dust is pretty recent. According to our owner, “front end alignment is the only adjustment that matters.”
![]() 06/10/2017 at 11:12 |
|
Lol that is kinda most old German cars though.
![]() 06/10/2017 at 12:21 |
|
The 80's were especially ridiculous. Halfway between electronic and mechanical but not necessarily very good versions of either. Mid 90's and newer are great. Mid 70's and older aren’t so weird either.
![]() 06/10/2017 at 14:18 |

I would love a 50s or 60s Mercedes, but those are priced way out of my league. Like the 250SL
![]() 06/10/2017 at 15:33 |
|
Same. So E55 it is for me.
![]() 07/23/2017 at 13:56 |
|
Sick GLK ! What do you think of the 2014+ S65 coupes ? While I love the W221, I think it might make more financial sense to just get a W222 in a few years. The S600 has me hooked, so I’ll probably be looking for a 3-5 year old S65 in a few years.
![]() 07/23/2017 at 16:14 |

Do it! I work on a 217 S65 regularly. But the only things it has needed were normal maintenance (tires, services) items and some door parts that the window tint installer broke.
